Overview

Are you able to make a difference to Indigenous peoples' participation and success in all areas of higher education?

Edith Cowan University is looking for a suitably qualified academic leader to head its renowned centre for Indigenous education, Kurongkurl Katitjin.

By attracting Indigenous people to ECU, this challenging and rewarding role will improve Indigenous participation and outcomes and strengthen Kurongkurl Katitjin’s capability for teaching and research in Indigenous history and culture. As Head of Kurongkurl Katitjin, you will:

  • increase Indigenous participation and support success across the diverse disciplines at ECU;
  • enhance local, regional and national relationships with Indigenous peoples and the wider
    community to improve Indigenous outcomes;
  • establish strong and lasting industry links that enhance teaching and research programmes; and
  • provide innovative leadership and guidance in Indigenous teaching, research, and engagement

You will be an Indigenous Australian as provided for under the Equal Opportunity Act (WA) 1984, Section 50D, with a strong academic background and the motivation to make a difference in indigenous education/affairs/the indigenous community.
