Job Title: Project Manager
Work Unit: Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation
Responsible to: Chairman, Murujuga Coroporation
Primary Objective
The Project Manager is to provide support to the Management Committee of the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation (MAC); and to a provide a wide range of advice on project development, implementation and evaluation of all business enterprise projects that will generate income for MAC.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for, and able to negotiate key business projects.
2. Represent and promote projects and project planning on a range of community committees.
3. Establish and maintain good working relationships with Pilbara Businesses and organizations.
4. The implementation and development of project initiatives and business enterprise opportunities which involve a range of stakeholders.
5. Prepare briefings, reports, correspondence, and other documents.
6. Provide cultural advice to all stakeholders including the delivery of training in cross-cultural issues.
7. Ability to cross between cultures and encourage and facilitate cooperation between
community, stakeholders and the MAC Board.
8. Develop and maintain simple database systems for the MAC.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to apply confidentiality is essential to this position.
2. Experience in living within the framework of Aboriginal values and lifestyles.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of cultural issues, including social, economic and political affecting the employment of Aboriginal people.
4. High level credibility in, and demonstrated ability to work with Indigenous, non government organizations, business and private enterprise.
5.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a consultative and working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, colleagues and client groups.
7. High level of initiative with the ability to be innovative and flexible to changing priorities.
8. Demonstrated ability to develop programs, work independently to meet outcomes, manage time effectively and accept responsibility.
9. Demonstrated skills in the use of computers with proven experience in the Microsoft Office applications.
10. Current WA driver’s license.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in Project Management
