For those of you I haven't met or spoken with recently I am currently in the position of Business Manager for the Commissioner for Children and Young People (CCYP). You are probably aware that we are a newly created independent agency charged with representing and advocating on behalf of all children and young people aged under 18 years in Western Australia. The Commissioner is required to have special regard for the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.

CCYP is currently seeking to recruit a L8 executive level position of Aboriginal Advisor for an initial 6 month contract/secondment opportunity, with the possibility of extension. This person will provide direct support and advice to the Commissioner in the setting of strategic direction and development of policies and initiatives from an Aboriginal perspective.

In light of your interest in our office and broad community contacts, the Commissioner has requested that I email you directly to seek your help so that information about the position is made widely available. This is a new position and one we are hoping should be an interesting and fulfilling role, with a real ability to influence outcomes.
