Would you like to be a QANTAS Pilot?
Griffith University is assisting Qantas to find appropriate interested members of the Australian Indigenous community to join the Qantas Cadet Pilot Program. The program identifies highly motivated and talented individuals and trains them to be Qantas Pilots.
The Process involves a rigorous selection process to be appointed as a Cadet. Following appointment as a cadet the successful individuals are trained as commercial Pilots (there are several ways this can happen and this is explained in detail on the Qantas Web site www.qantas.com.au).
Successful Cadets are then offered a position in the Cadet Industry Placement program, which places cadets as First Officers (Co-Pilots) in Regional Airlines such as Qantas Link. These First Officers are paid by the airline in which they are placed as First Officers. After 2 years of successful experience in this industry placement program the cadets may be selected as Trainee second officers with Qantas Mainline on either the A380 or the 747.
Please note that the only information available is on the Qantas Web site and it is not possible to respond to questions via email. However if you are interested in this program please email p.bates@griffith.edu.au. This must be completed by end of June 2008. At the end of June all names and contact details will be collated and supplied to Qantas Pilot recruitment. If you wish to have your contact details sent to Qantas then you must indicate your willingness for this to occur in your email to p.bates@griffith.edu.au.
You must include your full name, email address or postal address and a contact phone number and indicate clearly that Griffith University may pass on the email to Qantas. Please use in the subject line "Qantas Indigenous Pilots".
