Process Operator - Woodside - Start New Application
Apprenticeships Australia is one of the largest employers of apprentices and trainees in WA. Apprenticeships Australia, in partnership with Woodside Energy Ltd, is recruiting applicants to undertake operator traineeships in Karratha.
Operator Traineeships
This is an exciting opportunity for local people to receive training in a dynamic, challenging environment where safety, production targets and plant availability must be balanced in the most efficient way. The traineeship would ideally suit a person who has proven success in their current role but is wanting a career change and has demonstrated commitment to living and working in the Pilbara.
The structured two-year operator traineeship program will be conducted at the Woodside-operated Onshore Gas Plant at Karratha.
Successful applicants will gain extensive technical knowledge on hydrocarbon processing systems, develop skills to operate process facilities as well as demonstrate mechanical aptitude in a field support role. Training will involve both on the job and traditional classroom based learning.
On successful completion of the training, participants will receive a Certificate III in Process Plant Operations (PMA 30102), which is recognised in the Australian Hydrocarbon Industry. Applicants from diverse career backgrounds, female and indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply.
Essential criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for consideration:
• be able to work flexible hours including 12 hour shifts under physically challenging conditions
• demonstrated team orientation
• technical and problem solving aptitude
• demonstrated interest and ability to learn
• proven success in current role / career
• strong computer skills
• completed Year 12, or trade certificate or evidence of further study
• hold a current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
• pass regular drug and alcohol screening tests
